Palmer Telephone Celebrates 100 Years
of Service
In February 1904, the towns of
Pomeroy and Palmer joined together to organize the Pomeroy-Palmer
Mutual Telephone Company. That company eventually evolved into Palmer
Mutual Telephone Company, and today we offer local telephone service,
long distance service, paging, dial-up Internet, high-speed DSL
Internet and 55 cable television channels over our fiber optic network
to the town of Palmer and the surrounding rural area. So on July
10th, 2004 Palmer Mutual Telephone Company celebrated it’s
100th year at the Palmer Community building. With approximately
300 attendees for the meal of Brats and burgers served by the Palmer
House along with guest appearances by Johnny Orr and Senator Jack
Kibbie. All of us from the Palmer Mutual Telephone Company wish
to thank everyone for helping us celebrate. Following are some pictures
from the celebration on July 10th, 2004.
